Refugio Botanio started as an aquatic plant nursery in 2014. The company has since been growing out steadily into the areas of aquatic landscape design and construction of high-quality natural swimming pools, realizing projects and doing consultations all over Portugal. Refugio Botanico is an initiative by Martien den Haan and Sabrina Barata Martins. Martien holds degrees in Aquatic Ecology at the Universities of HZ Vlissingen in the Netherlands and the university of Sopia-Antipolis in Nice, France. Sabrina is a graphic design artist specializing in hand drawn designs, all of which are at the basis of our projects.
